Traditional advertising part 1

Since I was born I have been exposed to advertisements. I've grown up in an interesting time where I was able to see it evolve from its traditional mediums to its ever dominant presence online.

posters, newspapers and magazines were some of the earliest forms of advertising

Posters vary from small sheets of paper that would usually be seen on the side of buildings or wooden telephone poles to the giant billboard signs you see while your driving. It's one of the older forms of advertising that can be traced back to the late 1800's.

Newspapers are probably the oldest medium for advertising, you can fit a lot of different ads in there. With new copies come out daily or multiple times a week you can reach a wide audience but can also be a waste of money.

Magazine ads can be expensive but also have a high quality color reproduction. It's audience depends on the magazine and the circulation. There are many advantages to it over other mediums such as: Geographic flexibility, long lifespans, reader engagement, many ways to be creative and innovative.
